History
Overview
In 1995, Michael Karah purchased a wind-blown hill just off Highway 101 on which he envisioned a world-class vineyard. He promptly named it Windy Hill Estate Vineyards and began working with expert viticulturists to acquire the superior Pinot noir vines he sought and pull together a talented vineyard crew. Karah added Chardonnay grapes in 2000 and the first wines were produced in 2001. The 2008 vintages mark the change to Karah Estate Vineyards and a renewed approach to producing top quality, affordable wines to meet today’s customer demands.
